Six defendants in driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas in the county court on Thursday before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

John Patrick Garrett, 49, of Tamaqua, was arrested on July 4, 2015, by Nesquehoning police along Route 209 after he was found operating a vehicle with a flat tire. He refused to submit to a chemical test.Matika deferred sentencing so Garrett can obtain a D&A evaluation and apply for the IPP. Matika noted under mandatory sentencing guidelines Garrett faces a minimum of one year in jail.Earl Roneed Blagman, 39, of Williamsport, was arrested on Sept. 21, 2015, along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Blagman could obtain a D&A evaluation.Reynold Guerrier, 55, of Mount Carmel, was arrested on Nov. 19, 2015, along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Guerrier can obtain a comprehensive D&A evaluation.Michael Paul Zwiesdak, 66, of Lansford, was arrested on Aug. 17, 2015, by Lansford police along Bertsch Street. He refused a blood test.Sentencing was deferred so he could apply for the IPP.Barbara Renee Montana, 63, of Albrightsville, was arrested on April 19, 2014, along Tibbles Lane by Kidder Township police. A test showed 0.22 BAC. She was previously placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked from it for violating the conditions.Matika sentenced her to serve 48 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $500, one-year license suspension, pay court costs of about $1,000, render 25 hours of community service and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.She began the jail term immediately.David Joseph Melicharek, 32, of Schnecksville, was arrested on Oct. 25, 2015, along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East by Mahoning Township police. A test showed 0.08 BAC.He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300, render 25 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation. On a summary motor vehicle code violation he was fined $25 and costs.
