Man admits resisting arrest, apologizes

A former Carbon County resident pleaded guilty on Monday in the county court to resisting arrest.

He entered a guilty plea before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.Todd Stephen Greene, 41, of Harrisburg, and a former Lehighton resident, pleaded to the resisting charge stemming from an incident on Aug. 12, 2015, at the office of District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton. Greene was at the office on another matter, and when that was completed, he was served a warrant by county sheriff deputies on other charges.Greene became combative when the deputies attempted to place him in a sheriff department cruiser to take him to the county prison. The deputies had to use substantial force, includingstun guns to get Greene under control.Green told Nanovic, "I acted immaturely. I apologize to the deputies. They were only doing their job."Nanovic placed him on probation for a year, which is consecutive to term he is now serving of eight to 18 months, which runs to April 16. Zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use was also imposed.
