A Tremont man shot a woman in the head with a revolver during a quarrel, police say.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Ramon Mercado, 30, shot Heidi Mercado, 40, at 11:30 p.m. Thursday. She was flown to Hershey Medical Center, where she is in stable condition with bullet fragments in her sinus cavity.Ramon Mercado was charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, persons not to possess firearms, possessing instruments of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.He is in Schuylkill County prison under $250,000 cash bail.Police also listed as victims three children ranging in age from 6 to 10 years.
