A Schuylkill County woman, scheduled to go on trial before a Carbon County judge on Thursday on a driving under the influence charge, changed her mind and entered a guilty plea instead.

Bonnie Steinbrunn, 55, of New Ringgold, admitted to Judge Steven R. Serfass that she was driving under the influence on Sept. 26, 2013, when stopped along North Street by Jim Thorpe police. She submitted to a test, which revealed a 0.11 BAC.Serfass accepted the plea but deferred sentencing so Steinbrunn could obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program.Sentencing should occur in May.
