Snow parking ordinance in effect

Nesquehoning Borough wants its residents to be aware that its snow parking ordinance is now in effect.

The ordinance states that upon a snowfall, the following streets have been designated as snow emergency streets and no parking will be allowed in the named portion until the area is plowed. If there is no section of street indicated, then no parking is enforced along the entire length of street.• Catawissa Street: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Catawissa Street: Odd numbered side of the street on odd numbered days.• Center Street, from Hazard Street to Catawissa Street: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Coal Street, from Mermon Avenue to Allen Street: Odd numbered side of the street on odd number days.• Coal Street, from Mermon Avenue to Allen Street: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Columbus Avenue, from Genoa Street to Messina Street: Odd numbered side of the street on odd number days.• Columbus Avenue, from Genoa Street to Messina Street: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Diaz Avenue, from Venice Street to Padua Street: South on all snow days.• Laurel Street, from Route 54 going north into Hauto: East on all snow days.• Marconi Street, from Padua Street to Messina Street and from Venice Street to Genoa Street: Odd numbered side of the street on odd number days.• Marconi Street, from Padua Street to Messina Street and from Venice Street to Genoa Street: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Orchard Lane: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Orchard Lane: Odd numbered side of the street on odd numbered days.• Pine Street, from Route 54 going north into Hauto: East on all snow days.• Railroad Street, from Hazard Street to Pine Street: South on all snow days.• Rhume Street, from Mermon Avenue to Allen Street: South on all snow days.• School Street, from Coal Street to Rhume Street: West on all snow days.• Venice Street, from Mermon Avenue to Diaz Avenue: East on all snow days.• Genoa Street: Even numbered side of the street on even number days.• Genoa Street: Odd numbered side of the street on odd numbered days.In addition, no private person, firm or corporation is permitted to plow the streets or alley within the borough limits unless prior permission has been given by Nesquehoning Borough Council.They are also not permitted to pile snow or ice on any street, alley or roadway or across from any private property including, but not limited to, private driveways.
