Motorists traveling through the borough of Lehighton, take extra caution.

Scanner reports coming in just after 11 a.m. state that power outages are being reported in the borough.Traffic control has been called to a number of intersections to help direct motorists safely through the area. Traffic should treat intersections without traffic control as a four-way stop.Just after 11 a.m., a utility pole fire was reported along Bridge Street in Lehighton; and just before 11 a.m., a transformer fire was reported in Franklin Township along Long Run and Maury roads. It has not been confirmed whether or not the two are connected.According to PPL Electric Utility's outage map, a total of 525 residences were without power in Franklin Township.PPL crews are on scene.
