Police are investigating an armed robbery of the First National Pharmacy in Lehighton.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday a man entered the business brandishing a handgun. The bandit made off on foot running behind the Blue Ridge Cable office across the street.Witnesses at the scene reported seeing as many as 10 state police units as well as police from Lehighton, Palmerton, Jim Thorpe and Mahoning and Franklin townships.The robber chose an opportune moment for the getaway, when traffic was snarled from the Halloween parade.As of this morning, Lehighton Police said they continue to investigate several leads.Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at 610-377-4003.
