An arrest has been made in a theft of fuel incident that occurred in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Harold McGurl, 40, of Ashland, has been charged in connection with an incident that was reported on Nov. 14. The fuel was stolen from an excavator parked in a clearing adjacent to Jeff's Swamp Road, a mile west of the intersection with Lincoln Road, in Tremont Township.Troopers said diesel fuel was removed from the excavator a short time after it had been filled. The theft occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and 3 p.m. Nov. 14. The victim of the theft was listed as B&B Coal Co., of Joliett.McGurl has been charged with theft and related counts, troopers said.
