Tamaqua man pleads guilty to endangering, terrorizing

A Tamaqua man pleaded guilty to endangering and terrorizing and received a state prison sentence. He was among 17 defendants who pleaded guilty to criminal charges and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in Schuylkill County court as follows:

Anthony R. Ades, 46, of 250 Cedar St., pleaded to two counts of recklessly endangering another person and one count of terroristic threats, and was sentenced to serve 15 to 18 months in a state correctional facility with credit for serving 23 days in the county prison.His state prison sentence is to begin Monday, Aug. 5.On a charge of institutional vandalism was given a concurrent sentence of six to 12 months. Ades also was fined $1,000, and ordered to pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education Fund (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $460 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), and $72.90 to West Penn Township Police Department. Ades was cited by Chief Brian J. Johnson.Peter Kadingo, 55, Pottsville, statement under penalty by filling out a false application at Ed's Sports Shop, Tamaqua, to purchase a shotgun by failing to list a criminal offense arising from a domestic dispute in Center County, was placed on probation for 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Kadingo was cited by Eric Guyuer, of the Alcohol-Tobacco and Firearms Task Force (ATF), Philadelphia.Harry James Strain, 19, of 25 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, was placed on probation for 12 months for possession of drug paraphernalia. He must also pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and $50 to district attorney's office for a bench warrant. Strain was cited by McAdoo Patrolman Brent Getz.Derek Marcus Krapf, 25, of 90 Back Street, MaryD, Schuylkill Township, was placed on probation for 12 months for possession of drug paraphernalia. He must also pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA fund. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended he was fined $200 plus $50 costs.Krapf was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Houser. The sentence is to begin at the conclusion of a 23 months probation sentence imposed in February 2012 by Judge Charles M. Miller for possession with intent to deliver drugs from his home.Donald Christopher Murphy, 30, inmate at the state correctional facility in Ryan Township, aggravated harassment of a correctional officer by a prisoner, was sentenced to serve two to seven years with the sentence to run concurrent with sentence now serving, pay $50 to CJEA fund and $344 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Murphy was cited by Trooper Melissa Kyper.Lindsay Anne Brown, 30, Pottsville, identity theft by using name of Edward Simintitus Jr. to open credit card in his name and two counts of credit card fraud, was sentenced to serve 23 months probation, and pay $50 to CJEA fund.Brown was cited by Pottsville Det. Steven B. Gues, and New Castle Township Patrolman Ryan P. Murphy, for using credit card in stores at the Schuylkill Mall.On a charge of retail theft of lottery tickets he was sentenced to serve an additional 12 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA fund and make restitution of $764.34. Brown was cited by Saint Clair Patrolman Joseph J. Leskin.Joseph Talma Beaufont, 22, Pottsville, was sentenced to serve 23 months in the county prison for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; pay $100 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours of community service. On a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was given a concurrent 30 probation sentence and pay $100 to SAE fund. Beafont was cited by Pottsville police.John Daniel Butz, 23, Pottsville, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, was sentenced to serve four to 23 months in the county prison for delivery of drugs in a fast food parking lot in North Manheim Township and possession of drug paraphernalia; and pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, is qualified for work release, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Butz was cited by Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.Joe Andrew Chrin, 46, Auburn, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, was sentenced to serve 10 days in the county prison beginning Sunday, Aug. 4, at 6 p.m., followed by five months and 20 days on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), fined $750, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC, attend alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 20 hours community service, driver's license suspended 12 months and when restored install an ignition interlock on steering wheel of vehicle for 12 months. Chris was cited by Trooper Eric L. Reber when stopped in North Manheim Township.Jared Harvey Doyle, 38, Cardington, Ohio, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA fund, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. Doyle was cited by Trooper Scott Grochowski when stopped on Ringtown Road.Brad Alan Eiler, 31, Schuylkill Haven, possession of a small amount of marijuana, must serve 30 days on probation, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Eiler was cited by Trooper Thomas J. Robin at a motel in North Manheim Township.Christian Tracy Gauker, 51, Pottsville, two DUI of alcohol charges, was sentenced to serve six months to five years in the county prison, fined $3,000, pay $400 to SAE fund, $150 to Catastrophe fund, $100 to CJEA fund, attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 18 months and when restored install ignition interlock on vehicle for 12 months. On summary charges of failing to drive in proper traffic lane and careless driving was fined $50 plus $100 costs. He may participate in work release program.Gauker was cited by Trooper Mark M. Gauker also must serve an additional two years probation on a charge of simple assault filed by Pottsville Patrolman Brian W. Kotzmoyer.Michael Allen Killian, 23, Cressona, aggravated assault on staff members at Schuylkill Medical Center, Pottsville, was sentenced to serve five to 23 months in the county prison. He received credit for serving 171 days and was granted immediate parole. He received a concurrent 12 months probation sentence on a disorderly conduct charge. He was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Mark D. O'Toole.On a DUI of alcohol charge received a concurrent 48 hours to six months sentence, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. On a summary violation of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs. He was cited by Trooper Thomas Horning when stopped in Pottsville.On a charge of theft from The Beer Shak, SR183, Wayne Township, must serve an additional 23 months on probation and make restitution of $542.31. Killian was cited by Trooper Chad M. Smith.Holly Ann Meeghan, 41, Orwigsburg, DUI of drugs, was sentenced to serve six months in the IPP with the first 15 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee, also fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $460 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 100 hours of community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. Meeghan was cited by Orwigsburg Patrolman Brandon K. Bayer.Israel Quinones, 41, New Philadelphia, DUI of drugs, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $1,000, pay $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $460 to SMC, attend safety school, and driver's license suspended 12 months. He was cited by New Philadelphia Patrolman Jason A. Klouser.Tasha Lynette Richards, 36, Pottsville, DUI of drugs, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $460 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. On a charge of driving while license suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs. She was cited by Pottsville Patrolman John H. Mohl.Joseph David Zukosky, 52, Pottsville, possession of a controlled substance. The sentence was deferred to a later date as the court ordered a pre-sentence investigative report prepared by the adult probation department. Zukosky was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R.
