Tamaqua man gets state time for drugs; others plead guilty

A Tamaqua man was among 24 defendants who entered guillty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller as follows:

Brian Lee Filer, 46, of 4 Cherry St., pleaded to possession of a controlled substance, misbranding a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphenalia, and was sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional facility, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, and make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Filer was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey.Erica Lynn Neff, 32, formerly of 247 Old Birch Road, Jim Thorpe, theft of golf clubs belonging to Milton J. Drum, 2 Catawissa St., Tamaqua, placed on probation three years, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $600 to Drum. The sentence is to begin at the expiration of a sentence of three to 23 months he is currently serving.Jonathan William Kline, 25, Pottsville, criminal trespass on private property to serve nine to18 months in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $55 to Jessica Vidal, and $405 to Chad Alspaugh. Dufour was cited by Schuylkill County Drug Task Force after sale of marijuana made to a confidential informant (CI) in Pottsville.Toni A. Chester, 28, Ringtown, formnerly of Shenandoah, criminal trespass on private property, serve six to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 28 days, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Chester was cited by Shenandoah Patrolman Robert Senape.Luis Alberto Haddock, 21, Pottsville, public drunkenness, fined $1,000; and underage drinking, fined $100 plus costs. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Brian J. Reno.Edward J. Simon, 46, Mahanoy City, terroristic threats, serve six to 23 months in county prison with credit for serving 38 days, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. On two counts of harasssment fined $100 plus costs. Michael Dissinger, who charged he claimed to be a veteran of Iraq conflict while seeking to obtain medication illegally.Zachary Daniel Shaw, 22, Auburn, delivery of a controllled substance to a CI in Orwigsburg and possession of drug parphernalia, sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 174 days, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours community service. Shaw was cited by the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.He was also charged by Trooper Troy S. Greenawald with possession of a controlled substance when cited in West Brunswick Township, and was sentenced to serve an additional 12 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restituton of $113 to Bethlehem Regonal Lab.Michael Lee Reed, 34, inmate at the state correctional facility in Ryan Township, giving a false report that he was raped, sentenced to serve six to 12 months to run concurrent with the sentence he is now serving, pay $50 to CJEA fund. Reed was cited by Trooper Edward Lizewski.William Lawrence Quigley Jr., 50, Pottsville, two counts of defiant trespass and one count of theft of drugs, serve one to 12 months in the county prison on the theft charge and 24 months on probation on the trespass charges, and pay $150 to CJEA fund.
