Two jailed for assault incident

Two Carbon County residents were jailed on Saturday, June 15, following an incident at their residence.

Troopers said about 6:30 p.m. they responded to the residence of Stacey Lee Seifert, 35, and Raymond Leroy Seifert, 55, of 102 Indian Trail, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township.Troopers said the two were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Stacey Seifert allegedly struck Raymond Seifert in the face resulting in a cut above his left eye. Raymond Seifert allegedly pushed Stacey Seifert causing her to fall and strike her head on a cabinet in the kitchen. Stacey Seifert sustained a one and a half-inch laceration above her left eye that required stitches.Both were placed under arrest and each charged with simple assault and harassment. Both were arraigned before on-call District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, of Lansford. Raymond Seifert failed to post $3,000 straight cash bail and Stacey Seifert failed to post $2,000 straight cash bail, and both were committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning.
