Pennsylvania Department of Community Affairs staff recommended Lansford not be declared distressed at the present time. The decision was announced in a report presented during a public hearing presided over by Fred A. Reddig, chief of the municipal programs division of the DCA. These actions were set in motion with a request made last month by Robert Silver, acting on behalf of 275 residents who signed petitions in agreement. They asked for a determination of municipal financial distress under the Municipalities Financial Recover Act of the DCA.
