Two area residents among 30 placed in probation program

Two Tamaqua residents were among 30 who were qualified to be entered into the Schuylkill County Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program, which is reseved for first offenders charged with non-violent crimes.

They were admitted into the program by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine at a hearing held recently. All were placed for a year.Elizabeth M. Kuklis, 23, of 1333 Valley Road, Tamaqua R.D., possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, pay a $350 assessment to defray the cost of the program, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, and perform 10 hours community service.
