Michael Embick, son of Delbert and Christine Embick, Weatherly, has been named Senior of the Month for May at Weatherly Area High School.

Michael was recently selected as a National Merit Scholar finalist. He is the captain of the Scholastic Scrimmage team, the Math and Engineering team, and the cross-country team. He is a member of the Weatherly Area High School chapter of the National Honor Society and the Envirothon team, and also serves as a student technician assistant at the high school.Earlier this year, Michael entered an essay contest sponsored by the American Legion. His essay, "Should the Supreme Court be Appointed or Elected," placed first at every level of competition within the state local, county, district, and interdistrict and placed second in Pennsylvania overall.In the community, Michael volunteers with the Weatherly Lions Club and the Weatherly Area Community Library, and he offers tutoring services after school to his peers.
