SH Heritage Center to stage Member Appreciation Day

Sunday marks the third Member Appreciation Day at the Summit Hill Heritage Center and everyone is welcome to attend two very special events, the dedication of the new ramp and a free concert to celebrate Elvis' birthday by tribute artist Johnny M. The festivities start at 1p.m. with the dedication of the new ramp followed by the two hour concert in the Center.

"We are excited to have this addition added creating better accessibility to the main floor," said President Debra Ranck. "It was one of our goals since opening to provide a ramp for those who could use it."The ramp goes from the front sidewalk into the belfry area allowing wheelchair access and an easier way for those who have issues with the stairs. Ranck said the ramp was partially funded by a grant as well as by the Center itself. "We ran out of good weather, so in the spring we will be finishing it with an antiskid material paint coating."Following the dedication, members and the public are invited to attend the free concert in celebration of the ramp and members in observance of Elvis' Birthday by tribute artist Johnny M who has appeared at the Center twice before. He has traveled throughout the country performing as the King and has won awards for his performances. Most notably he won a contest for best voice judged by Priscilla Presley herself. He will be performing at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. There will be refreshments served for this event."We are hoping to create a club like atmosphere for this concert and it should be a great treat," said Ranck.
