Sundance Vacations moves into new Tamaqua location

After 12 years in the South Tamaqua Shopping Plaza, Sundance Vacations, a well-known business in South Tamaqua, has moved its call center to its new location in the Tamaqua Plaza on East Broad Street in Tamaqua. Sundance Vacation's new location, which adjoins the Tamaqua YMCA of the former Jamesway Plaza, consists of a large office space consisting of over three dozen cubicle seating areas. In addition, the new location offers employees a large break room, as well as a high tech training/orientation room. The new facility also provides a raised stage to provide management a higher perspective and a better motivational training venue.

Sundance Vacations, founded in 1991, is a call center that provides vacation and wholesale travel options.John Dowd, owner and President, who pointed out that over $200,000 was invested at the new location, said, "We share the common goal of enriching the lives of our customers and each other by helping people experience quality vacations through caring, professional service."The new location, which was designed with the possibility of expanding, will employ 60 people, representing about 15 percent of the company's total workforce."It is always great to see life come back to the old Jamesway Plaza," said State Representative Jerry Knowles, who was on hand during the ribbon cutting."Anytime new jobs are created is great news," said Senator Dave Argall, who was also present during the ribbon cutting."I knew I was with a good company from the start," said Denise Miller, General Manager of Marketing and 17-year employee of Sundance Vacations. "The owners have stayed closely involved with operations since day one." She pointed out numerous company activities, such as the annual Christmas party and trips to Dorney Park."Everyone here is a close knit family," said Victoria Krouse, who has worked at Sundance Vacations about a month.Staff, management and owners of the call center routinely give to local charities, to include Toys For Tots, Salvation Army and so on.During the opening event, State Representative Doyle Heffley said, "It is great to see this company investing in the community by providing jobs to both Schuylkill and Carbon County."The company's website,
