U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Robert Eickhoff, a native of Summit Hill, was wounded in action in Vietnam, according to a telegram received by his family. He was wounded June 3 in the chest, right arm and right side, the telegram stated. A Summit Hill High School graduate, Sgt. Eickhoff has more than 21 years of service in the U.S. Army. He is one of one of three brothers currently serving in the military. He also has a nephew, Wayne Eickhoff, serving in Vietnam.
