ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Tamaqua police and emergency responders were called after a silver Honda SUV accidentally slammed into a Tamaqua business yesterday. The business, The Station Fitness Center, 109 W. Cottage Ave., sustained damage to the side of the building and chimney. The female driver of the SUV, Alex Kurek, Tamaqua, was taken to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, via Tamaqua ambulance for minor injuries. Despite shaking up customers in the fitness center, no other injuries were reported. Volunteers with the Tamaqua fire police detoured traffic until the vehicle could be towed away.
