Palmerton area organizations benefit from Concourse Club generosity

The Concourse Club of Palmerton played Santa Claus, delivering gifts early this year to several of the community's organizations. Co-chairs of the Club's Ways and Means Committee, Marie Williams, standing, right, and Marje Federanich, standing, left, reported that the Club raised $8,116.58 at its Basket Spectacular held in the fall of 2010. All that money was dispersed to the following organizations: seated left to right-Tammy Rodgers, holding granddaughter Cassie, of Domestic Violence, $500; Pam Andrews, Palmerton Area Recreation Association, $500; Bonnie Green, CACPAC $300; Diane Danielson, Palmerton Area Library, $1,500; Mata Curran, Band Concerts, $500; Amy Williamson, Special Olympian; Richard Nothstein, Special Olympics, $300. Standing left to right-Federanich; Dan Kunkle, Lehigh Gap Nature Center, $100; Joseph Koma, St. Vincent DePaul, $300; Bill Smelas, Palmerton Historical Society, $100; Larry Ahner, Palmerton Memorial Park, $1,000; Joe Plechavy, Palmerton Band, $400; Wayne Knirnschild, Towamensing Fire Co., $500; Joe Kercsmar, Palmerton Fire Co., $500; Michael Spairana, Bowmanstown Fire Co., $500; Pete Beblavy, Aquashicola Fire Co., $500. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church received $100, Breast Cancer Research, $250 and PA Breast Cancer Coalition, $250.
