Towamensing Township road complaints heard

Josephine Cacace of 355 Margaret St., Towamensing Township, was one of the residents who complained about roads at the May 5 supervisors' meeting. She was not pleased with the repair work done following her complaint that there was an eight-inch dropoff from the lawn and her driveway to the shoulder. "I had to step down to get the mail," she said.

Previously grass provided a level match with the road. The road crew came and filled the area with stone leaving a four-inch dropoff. She said their heavy machine also broke the edge of the blacktop. The roadmaster suggested she move the mailbox but she said the place where he wants it is where they plow the snow from the cul-de-sac.
