Monroe traffic stop leads to drug arrest

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two arrests made by officers.

On April 11, at about 10:30 p.m., police made a traffic stop along SR940 at Long Pond Road, in Pocono Summit for speeding. The driver was identified as Pedro A. Gonzalez, 56, of Tobyhanna. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests.He was then transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.On April 17, about 9:29 p.m., officers on patrol in Mt. Pocono observed a suspicious vehicle at the Field of Dreams park. The vehicle, a Honda CR-V, was occupied by two males, Adam V. Caprioli, 18, of Swiftwater, the driver, and Joseph A. Kubalak, 19, of Cresco, a passenger.The officers detected the strong odor of brunt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A further investigation revealed Kubalak had possession of a glass pipe containing the residue of marijuana and two packages of rolling papers.Kubalak will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Caprioli was not charged, it was noted.
