DUI arrests reported

Several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests were reported by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said about 7:14 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, troopers stopped Sherri Marie Walsh, 41, of Saylorsburg, along Hamilton South at Lake Shore Drive, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, operating a 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier, for an equipment violation.She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI.About 9:55 p.m. on Thursday troopers stopped Danall G. Greenzweig, 27, of Summit Hill, operating a 1972 Chevrolet S10 pickup along SR209 at Don's Towing, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for multiple motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for DUI and DUI of a controlled substance.On Friday, March 18, about 6:08 p.m. troopers responded to a one vehicle crash along Old Route 115, in the area of the Sunset Inn in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Russell Smale, 35, of Pen Argyl, was driving a 2002 Honda Accord northbound when he lost control. The vehicle left the road, rolled over and struck a utility pole.Smale was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment. He was found to be under the influence and is facing a DUI charge, troopers said.Troopers were assisted by volunteers from the West End ambulance and Blue Ridge Fire Company.Also on Friday, about 10:08 p.m., troopers stopped Cody James Matlock, 19, of Saylorsburg, along Gilbert Road, at Fairgrounds Road, in Polk Township, for several motor vehicle code violations. Matlock was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest. Troopers said a charge of DUI as a minor is pending blood test results.On Saturday, March 19, about 8:31 p.m. troopers stopped Steve Stecko, 53, of Kunkletown, along Church Road at Bollinger Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence, troopers said. The DUI charge is pending test results.
