Monroe man facing theft charges
A Monroe County man is facing multiple theft and related counts.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Tashaun Normand, 28, of Tobyhanna, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud, forgery and unlawful use of a computer.
According to police on Aug. 26 PMRP received notification from police in Randleman, N.C., regarding fraudulent charges being posted on the credit card account of Michelle Brickford, of Randleman. During the course of the investigation Normand was identified as a suspect and it was further learned that the Wayne County District Attorney's office was investigating the same individual.
A search warrant was obtained for 7381 Ventnor Drive, in Tobyhanna, where the suspect was residing, and found were items that were fraudulently purchased with Brickford's credit card.
Further investigation led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Normand charging with the theft counts. Normand was under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office in New York.
On Oct. 17 the U.S. Marshall's office in Scranton, assisted by PMRP, arrested Normand, aka, Tyrelle Boynton, at the federal courthouse in Scranton. He was incarcerated in the county prison in Snydersville pending a preliminary hearing.
