Hit-and-run crashes probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating two hit-and-run accidents reported along Schuylkill County roadways.

The first was reported about 12:18 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1104 S. Centre St. at Goodfella's Tavern parking lot in Mount Carbon. Troopers said a witness observed a 1990 Ford F150 pickup truck back up into a 2001 Buick Century, with the driver then fleeing the scene. The struck vehicle is owned by David Martin, 21, of New Philadelphia. The hit-and--run vehicle was observed fleeing north on SR61.

The second hit-and-run was reported at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, along River St., in Cressona. Troopers said a vehicle was driven southbound and when it struck a parked 2000 Ford F150 XLT pickup truck. The hit and run vehicle struck the front left bumper and side panel of the Ford.

After impact the other driver fled south.
