Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, will hold its annual telethon on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Penn's Peak, Jim Thorpe. The telethon will be aired live on Blue Ridge Communications TV-13 and Service Electric, channel 19 in the Tamaqua area.

Hosts for the evening will be Nick Hawkey, Dr. Edward Miller, George Roberts, Larry Richards and Kristal Nemeroff.Funds raised at the telethon will be used to help this all volunteer organization fulfill dreams for seriously, chronically and terminally ill children in Carbon County and surrounding communities.The lineup of entertainment includes Tommy Zito (The Piano Man), who will entertain with his comic personality, impersonations and his never ending repertoire of music.Also performing are students from Tricia's Dance Extreme, the band Red Light Runners, the duo Beer Money, Erin Kelly, Kristal Nemeroff, Jeann Andrews, Joe Urban and Robin Drexler, Nicole Donatone and band, the Dream Kids, Angela Nardini and Blue Mountain Christmas.Several children who have had dreams fulfilled will also be on hand to talk about their dream.Eileen Thompson, President of the Dream Come True chapter and Telethon Chairman, said, "We are blessed to have so many talented people who are willing to donate their time for this organization. At the close of another year, we will gratefully acknowledge the many organizations and individuals who work tirelessly to help fund our efforts."The Blue Ridge Chapter has had a very busy year. We completed four dreams and have four more families set to travel in February/March 2011. We also have three children who have been approved for a dream and are in the dream fulfillment planning stage."There are another seven children in various stages of the dream fulfillment process. The Blue Ridge Chapter is 100 percent volunteer and all money raised is used for our children."We are proud to continue our scholarship program which currently has two children enrolled. Three more of our Dream Come True children will be eligible for the scholarship program next fall. With the help of our viewing audience, we will be able to continue our mission of providing a dream to every eligible child in our service area."The public is invited to attend the show at Penn's Peak. LaRose Insurance Ltd., and Jim Thorpe National Bank.Dream Maker Awards will be presented to outstanding volunteers who have served the organization for three years or more. 2010 Dream Make Award recipients are: Pamela and Larry Richards, who help organize the "Shoot for a Dream" skeet shoot; George Roberts of Eyewatch News TV 13, and Kristal Nemeroff for hosting the Dream Come True telethon; Julianne Farina, who organizes the Prom Gown Sale, Breakfast with Santa and New York City trip; and DCT board members Debra Lutz and Nichole Herbert; also as part of Becky's Car Show and Festival, Minerva Latshaw, Lehigh Township Police and Lehigh Elementary School sixth grade CSI Committee.
