'Booming Artillery' is the theme for next weekend's annual military vehicle rally and swap meet at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert.

Over 300 military vendors are registered for the Sept. 17-18 event which is sponsored by the Redball Military Transport organization based in Belvidere, N.J. The club is made up of historians, vehicle preservationists and collectors interested in collecting, restoring and displaying antique historic military transport equipment, vehicles and mobile weaponry transport.The group takes its name from the famous WWII truck supply route, the Red Ball Express, which re-supplied allied troops advancing swiftly across France and into Germany.A number of World War II vehicles, including halftracks, heavy trucks and Jeeps, will be on display at the event, as well as artillery pieces.For more information, call (570) 325-5216.
