The Palmerton Hospital received a $40,000 check from the hospital auxiliary as the organization held its annual dinner. Nearly 50 volunteers attended, which was held at the hospital. Florence Gallagher of Palmerton received the organization's distinguished Honorary Member award. Gallagher is past president of the auxiliary board and has given over 3,000 hours of her time as an active auxiliary member. The $40,000 check was presented to board member Marvin Foley by auxiliary treasurer Elva Kleintop.
