Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers in recent days.

On May 28 about 12:25 a.m. officers observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on SR940 near Interstate 380, in Tobyhanna Township, crossing the center line and also the white fog line several times. A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Laurel Louise Thomas, 46, of Tobyhanna. She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Pocono Medical Center (PMC), East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. Police said DUI and roadways laned for traffic charges are pending.On June 6 about 6:40 p.m. officers made a traffic stop along SR940 at Sir Bradford East Drive, in Tobyhanna Township. The driver was identified as David Henry, 21, of Shavertown. He was found to be under the influence. He was brought to a sobriety checkpoint that was set up near the police headquarters and submittted to a breath test. He was charged with DUI, police said.On Saturday, June 19, about 10:27 p.m. officers observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner westbound on SR940 and then turning onto SR611. A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Paul Hopkins, 57, of East Stroudsburg. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. The DUI charge is pending, police added.On Sunday, June 20, about 3:05 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along SR611 in Coolbaugh Township for a vehicle code violation. The driver was identified as Felipe Aguilar, 29, of 5535 Seven Nations Drive, in Tobyhanna. Aguilar failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was taken to PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.On Monday, June 21, about 12:56 a.m. a traffic stop was made along SR940 and Tanglewood in Tobyhanna Township, for several vehicle code violations. The driver was identified as Carol Nendel, 50, of Pocono Pines. She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was then transported to the PMC for a blood test. Police said DUI and other charges will be filed against Nendel.
