West Penn Township police have released the names of the persons involved in a three-vehicle crash that occurred on Monday along SR309 at an entrance to the Village Square Mall.

Police identified the drivers as Dana Taft, 84, of 321 W. Spruce St., Tamaqua, operating a 2000 Mazda minivan; Daniel Reppy, 45, of Hamburg, driving a 2001 Volvo sedan; and Heather Harris, 24, of Mahanoy City, driving a Volkswagen Jetta.In the van with Taft were Helen Giancinto, unknown age, also of Tamaqua, who was in the front passenger seat, and a rear seat passenger, Stanislaw Calka, 57, of Allentown.With Reppy was Randy Hoffman, 46, also of Hamburg. Harris was alone in her car.Police said Taft was southbound and attempted to make a left turn into the mall when she apparently pulled into the path of Reppy, who was northbound in the right lane.Upon impact, the van continued for a short distance before coming to rest. The Volvo spun to the right after impact and struck Harris' vehicle, who was reportedly exiting the mall.Giancinto and Calka were ejected from the van upon impact.Calka was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, while Giancinto and Taft were flown by medevac helicopters to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Calka and Giancinto are listed in critical condition and Taft is in stable condition.Reppy, Hoffman and Harris were all transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. The three were reportedly treated for minor injuries.Police said initial information given by witnesses indicated Taft was northbound at the time of the crash and Reppy was pulling out from the upper entrance to the mall.Police said after speaking with the drivers involved and the reconstruction team it was determined that the witnesses' reports were inaccurate.Assisting township police were Tamaqua police and state police from Frackville; Penn Mahoning and Tamaqua ambulances and a Lehighton paramedic unit; and West Penn Fire Company and South Ward Fire Company, Tamaqua.The investigation into the crash is continuing.
