Choral concert staged at LAHS has variety, several highlights

"Stand Together" was the theme of a choral concert staged Saturday at Lehighton Area High School.

The program was under the direction of David Perkins, high school music department chairman, and consisted of numerous highlights.During one number, a quintet who sang "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," Perkins was forced to fill in for one of the students, Arthur Terembula. Perkins noted that Terembula had been diagnosed with cancer and couldn't perform in the concert.A collection was taken for Terembula.Also in the quintet were were Kirk Arner, Marcus Kunkle, Justin Plocinik, and Michael Warkala.There were numerous soloists.Kunkle joined with Evy Heckman to perform "Don't Stop Believin.'"Noah Smith and Kirk Arner combined for "Guys Sing-Off (It's My Life, Confessions Par II)."Lauren Jankowski and Samantha Cerimele answered with "Girls Sing-Off (Halo, Walking On Sunsine)."Justin Plocinik sang "I Can't Fight This Feeling."For the song "Somebody to Love," soloists were Smith, Kunkle, Plocini, Arner, Jankowski, and Sarah Bednar.Heckman, Cerimele, Bednar, Kristen Campbell, Sarah Nothstein, and Catherine Varley former a quartet to do "Love Story"Campbell and Arner were featured soloists for "Seasons of Love" from the Broadway musical "Rent."Cerimele did the song "For the Beauty of the Earth."Teah Garrison along with Varley and Jankowski sang "Good News."Smith and Plocinik were featured in "I Want You Back/ABC."Karli Bender and Plocinik were part of the senior farewell, doing "The Prayer."The concert featured the Concert Choir and Music Express Seniors.There was a special segment in which alumni of Music Express participated.
