Palmerton Community Band to start playing

It's time once again to begin rehearsals for the Palmerton Community Band Concert Season. As usual three concerts are scheduled. One for each month of June, July, and August.

A fourth concert at the Palmerton Festival is also more than likely to occur.Rehearsals this year will begin on April 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Palmerton Boro Hall on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton.Unlike the past 10 years or so, they will begin their rehearsal season in the Boro Hall due to some scheduling conflicts. Percussionists are asked to bring snares and music stands.All other musicians need to bring stands to rehearsals.The Palmerton Community Band is a nonprofit organization and as such is always looking for donations to allow them to continue their quest to bring good music to the residents of the Palmerton area.If anyone is interested in donating to the organization, they can do so by calling 610 360 8343.Anyone new to the area interested in playing with the band, or anyone who plays but has not played with them before is welcome to attend rehearsals and perform with the band. They are always looking for new members.You do not have to live in Palmerton. This offer is extended to all high school band members in the surrounding areas as well. They have a number of students from the Lehighton and Pleasant Valley areas playing with the band. Students from other districts will be welcome as well.Don't hesitate, just come to rehearsal and enjoy the fun.
