Harhart Reschedules College Aid Funding Seminar

State Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Northampton/Lehigh) has rescheduled her college financial aid seminar for area students and parents from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at Whitehall-Coplay Middle School.Harhart is encouraging students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades from Catasauqua, Northampton, Northern Lehigh, Parkland and Whitehall-Coplay high schools and their parents to attend the informational seminar.Participating in the seminar will be presenters from Lehigh Carbon Community College, Northampton Community College, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, Moravian College, and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). There also will be someone to provide information about the Tuition Account Program and military funding.Harhart said each panelist will give a 10-minute presentation on his or her financial aid options. Attendees will be making Easter eggs. The class is open to children ages 6-14. Please call the library to sign up. Visit the library if you need help downloading these.The preschool reading program is held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. It will be held on the following dates: March 9, March 16, March 23, April 13, April 20, and April 27.The library will be celebrating National Library Week by holding a book fair at Barnes and Noble on Friday, April 16. Please mark your calendars. The library will get a percentage of the total amount of money spent by people who designate their sales for the library. This amount will be used to buy books for the library.There is always a book sale in the back of the library. The library accepts book donations, with the exception of encyclopedias, text books, and Reader's Digest.Library hours are Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Thursday and Sunday.
