15 area residents among 83 arraigned on criminal counts

Fifteen area residents were among 83 who were arraigned Monday morning in the office of District Attorney James P. Goodman at the Schuylkill County courthouse on criminal charges. All entered pleas of not guilty and requested trial by jury. They were as follows:

Jonathan Edison Jacome, 19, of 236 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, charged by Patrolman Alfred Walsh, McAdoo police, last Dec. 22 with possession of a controlled substance (CS) and drug paraphernalia in the 200 block on S. Kennedy Drive. The police report states Jacome was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic check and drugs were found in his possession.Melissa Branz, 22, of 121 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, charged by Patrolman Jeremy Talanca, McAdoo police, with retail theft of merchandise from Fegley's Mini Mart in McAdoo on Nov. 21, 2008.Christopher John Beishline, 33, of 110 W. Blaine St., Apt. 2, McAdoo, charged by Patrolman Robert Minnick, McAdoo police, with drving under the influence (DUI), and failing to activate turning signals on his vehicle when required on North Hancock Street last Dec. 5.Michael A. White, 41, of 130 N. Lincoln St., McAdoo, charged by Patrolman Talanca with theft of merchandise from Fegley's Mini Mart on Nov. 21, 2008.Nicholas Brandon MCGlothlin, 18, of 338 Arlington St., Tamaqua, was charged by Patrolman Jeffrey Wainwright, Tamaqua police, with two counts of DUI of drugs and exceeding the speed limit by traveling 40 miles-per-hour in a 25 zone last Nov. 17 on E. Broad St.Terry L. Bachert, 55, of 51 Arlington St., Tamaqua, charged by Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, Tamaqua police, with DUI when stopped on Greenwood Street last Sept. 26.Christopher William Weston, 28, of 221 W. High St., Coaldale, charged by Patrolman Matthew Bynon, Tamaqua police, with DUI, being involved in an accident on W. Broad and Lehigh streets. last Oct. 29 with another vehicle and causing injury to Bruce Kistler; careless driving and two counts of driving while his operating privileges were suspended. Weston also faces a charge of criminal conspiracy filed by Patrolman Bynon by agreeing with an accomplice to burglarize an apartment at Hegarty Towers, 101 Pine St., Tamaqua, last Nov. 19.Helene C. Grutza, 35, of 39 Vulcan Road, Barnesville, charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township police, with retail theft of cosmetic products valued at $80.33 from Walmart Store, Hometown, last Dec. 23.Rolando Martin Horsford, 29, of 30 1/2 E. Abbott St., Lansford, charged by Sgt. Richard Weaver, Tamaqua police, with two counts each of delivery of a CS, possession with intent to deliver by making sales of cocaine to a confidential informant (CI) on Spruce Street last Aug. 28 and Sept. 3, and possession of a CS and driving while his operating privileges were suspended.Stephanie Parliament, 23, of 886 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville, charged by Patrolman Michael Dissinger, Mahanoy City police, with criminal conspiracy, possession of a CS and possession of drug paraphernalia at an apartment in the 100 block on E.
