Brockton man placed on probation for DUI

A Brockton man was placed in a long probation program after pleading guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, and was one of 16 sentenced recently by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin in Schuylkill County court.

Jorge Robert Sullivan, 32, of 50 Mine St., Brockton, was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months with the first 10 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee, followed by 50 days of strick supervision and then four months on probation.He was also orderd to pay costs of prosecution, a fine of $500, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, complete the alcohol highway safety school, make restitution of $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service and he loses his driver's license for 12 months. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended he was fined $1,000 and on a charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic, fined $25, plus $100 in costs. Sullivan was cited byTrooper Scott Grehoski on Nov. 1, 2008.Christopher William Webber, 23, of 181 Valley Street, New Philadelphia, on a charge of indecent assault was placed on probation for 23 months with the special condition he must submit to a sex offender evaluation and comply with any recommendations and pay $50 to the CJEA fund.Michelle A. Putalavage, 33, of 71 Sunny Drive, MaryD, Schuylkill Township, on a charge of receiving merchandise stolen from Walmart Store, Rush Township, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to the CJEA fund, perform 10 hours community service and make restitution of $9.88 to Walmart.Marc Anthony Greenaway, 22, of 2 Billlies Road, New Philadelphia, on a charge of theft was placed on probation 12 months and pay $50 to the CJEA fund. He was cited by Chief Shawn Tray, West Mahanoy Township police, with theft of an access card from his employer, Converco CompanyCarmen Thomas Almonti, 27, Pottsville, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in the county prison and is eligible for work release if he qualifies; pay $100 to the SAE fund and $50 to the CJEA fund. On the chargte of possession of a controlled substance was placed on probatoin 12 months but it runs concurrent to the delivery sentence. Almonti was cited Cpl. Dennis Wiederhold, Pottsvile police, last June.Vyomesh Prakash Bhatia, 38, Montville, N.J., on a charge of fleeing police, was given credit for serving nine days in the county prison and was released on probation for 18 months and pay $50 to the CJEA fund.On charges of reckless driving was fined $200 and on charges of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic, failed to yield to emergency vehicle, made illegal U-turn, failed to drive at safe speed and careless driving, fined $25 each plus $300 in costs. Bhatia was cited by Trooper Scott Grochowski last June 24 when apprehended on SR54 in Mahanoy Township.Patrick Joseph Celefie, 22, Lindenhurst, N.J., on a charge of possession of a controlled substance in Mahanoy City, was given credit for serving 43 days in the county prison and released on probation for 12 months, pay $100 to the SAE fund and $50 to the CJEA fund. Celefie was cited by Patrolman Christopher Zubris.Christopher John Croneberger, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 30 days to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m., pay a fine of $750, pay $100 to the SAE fund, $100 to the Catastrophe fund and $50 to the CJEA fund, receive outpatient treatment and his license is suspended 12 months. He was cited by Patrolman David George, Schuylkuill Haven police.Gregory R. Freeman, 26, Pine Grove, on a charge of DUI was placed in the IPP for six months, with first 25 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring at $12 per day, followed by 35 days strict probation and four months probation, pay a fine of $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Lab, attend and complete outpatient counseling and license suspended 12 months. On a charge of failing to drive on right side of road was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Freeman was cited by Cpl. Jeffrey Futchko, Pine Grove police.Marie J. Manbeck, 55, Shenandoah, on a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $300, pay $50 to the CJEA fund and on a charge of public drunkenness fined $300 and costs. She was cited by Patrolman Raymond Tonkinson, West Mahanoy Township police.Kevin Minnich, 46, Pine Grove, on a charge of loitering and prowling was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund and submit to a mental health evaluation. Minnich was cited by Patrolman David George, Schuylill Haven police.Michael A. Mitchell, 50, Pottsville, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours in the county prison effective Saturday, Feb. 27, at 9 a.m. and then released on probation for six months, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Lab, enroll and complete the alcohol highway safety school and his license is suspended 12 months. Mitchell was cited by Patrolman Michael O'Neill, Ashland police.Tony Lamar Nesbitt, 39, Schuylkill Haven, on giving police a false identification was placed on probation for six month and pay $50 to the CJEA fund. He was cited by Patrolman W.Glenn Firing, Schuylkill Haven police.James Vincent O'Brien, 44, Pottsville, on a DUI charge was placed in the IPP for six months, serve 15 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 per day fee, followed by 45 days strict supervision then four months probation, pay a fine of $1,000, pay $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, complete an alcohol highway safety school, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Cener and license suspended 12 months. O'Brien was cited by Patrolman Joseph Welsh, Pottsville police.Richard William Ochs, 36, Pottsville, on a charge of disorderly conduct was placed on probation 12 months and pay $50 to the CJEA. Ochs was cited by Trooper Robert Oakley at the Sunny Rod and Gun Club, Norwegian Township.Dylan Lee Schreffler, 20, Hegins, on a charge of simple assault was placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to the CJEA fund and make restitution of $1,672.78 to the county's victim's compensation fund, joint and several with co-defendants. Schreffler was cited by Trooper Bernard Walasavage.All defendants must also pay a $50 per month supervision while on probation or parole.
