15 enter guilty pleas in Schuylkill County Court

A Pottsville woman, who used a stolen credit card numerous times, faces a state prison sentence after entering a guilty plea. She and 15 others who pleaded guilty were sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes Thursday in the Schuylkill County court as follows:

Crystal Celeste Linn, 31, who pleaded guilty to 15 counts of forgery and 16 counts of theft by deception, had her sentenced deferred and she was committed to a state correctional facility for an evaluation to determine if she is eligible to be admitted into the state's Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP).She was ordered to surrender herself to the county sheriff on March 5 at 9 a.m. to be transferred to a state facility. She used the credit card of Jesse Adams, Pottsville, without permission.Michael Robert Cole, 33, Mahanoy City, on a driving under the influence (DUI) charge was placed in the county's IPP for six months with the first 10 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 per day fee, followed by 50 days of strict probation, then four months of regular probation, pay a fine of $500, pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, make restitution of $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center, attend and complete a Group Intervention Program and he loses his driver's license for 12 months. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended he was fined $200 plus costs. He was cited by Patrolman Kirk Becker, Pottsville police, last Aug. 16.Joshua Michael Tassone, 20, Pottsville, on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and controlled substance was sentenced to serve two to 18 months in the county prison, pay $100 to SAE fund and $100 to CJEA fund. On a charge of underage drinking was fined $300 and costs and on the charge of public drunkenness fined $100 and costs. He was cited by Patrolmen Kirk Becker, Pottsville police.Mark Claiborn Swift, 20, Pottsville, on charge of illegal sale or transfer of a firearm was placed on probation for 12 months and pay $50 to the CJEA fund.He was charged by Patrolman Eugene Yourey, Pottsville police, with transferring a 22 caliber revolver to another person. He previously had been placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD program for first time offenders but violated the rules and was removed from the program. His criminal record now stays with him.Amanda Lynn Strimboulis, 21, Pottsville, on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was placed on probation 30 days, pay $100 to the SAE fund and $50 to the CJEA fund. On a charge of underage drinking was fined $100 plus costs. She was cited by Patrolman Renee Galle, Pottsville police.Amanda Channon Stoudt, 23, Pottsville, on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund and $50 to CJEA fund. She was cited by Patrolman Joseph Krammes, Pottsville police.Donald Charles Rogan Jr., 50, Pottsville, on a charge of harassing Christine Collins, Pottsville, was ordered to pay a fine of $100 and $50 to the CJEA fund. Rogan was cited by Patrolman Charles Webber, Pottsville police.Justin J. Payne, Pottsville, on a charge of possession a small amount of marijuana was placed on probation 30 days, pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to the CJEA fund. Payne was cited by Patrolman Richard J. Pugh, Pottsville police.Jeffrey B. Myers, 36, of 231 Valley St., New Philadelphia, on a charge of driving while under suspension-DUI related, was sentenced to serve 90 days in the Schuylkill County Prison with credit for serving seven days. His sentence is to commence Monday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. He also must pay a fine of $1,000, pay, and $50 to the CJEA fund. On a charge of being involved in an accident at 12th and W. Market streets., Pottsville, and a charge of habitual offender of the state motor vehicle code was placed on probation for 18 months. Myers was cited by Patrolman James Englert.Taronjay David Joppy-Forney, 19, Harrisburg, on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and defiant trespass on JFK Pool property in Pottsville, was placed on probation for 12 months and pay $50 to the CJEA fund. He was cited by Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.Shawn David Hunt, 27, Pottsville, on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance was sentenced to serve two to four years in a state correctional facility. He also must pay $300 to the SAE fund, $150 to the CJEA fund and received credit for serving 23 days in the county prison. He was ordered to surrender to the county sheriff on Friday, March 5, at 9 a.m. to be transported to a state facility. Hunt was cited by Sgt. John Morrow, Pottsville police.Keith David Frankenstein, Minersville, on a charge of harassing Brenda Fitzpatrick in a domestic dispute, was ordered to pay a fine of $75 and $50 to the CJEA fund.Michelle Lynn Davis, 25, Mahanoy City, on a charge of theft was given credit for having served three days in the county prison and was released on probation for 12 months and pay $50 to the CJEA. Davis was cited by Patrolman Grant Yoder, Pottsville police.Dennis Raymond Tobias, 43, Pottsville, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, undergo intensive outpatient counseling and make restitution of $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center. His driver's license is suspended 12 months. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended he was fined $200 plus costs. Tobias was cited by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police.Shawn Michael Docherty, 35, Berwick, on a charge of DUI was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, however, since he had served four days in the county prison was granted immediate parole and placed on probation for six months, fined $1,000, pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to the Catastrophe fund, $208.88 to the district attorney's office for warrant fees, make restitution of $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center and undergo intensive outpatient counseling. On a charge of driving while his license was suspended was fined $200 and costs. Docherty was cited by Patrolman Charles Webber, Pottsville police.
