Poor families in Pennsylvania will get a little more help to keep warm in this frigid winter.

The state Department of Public Welfare has announced it will increase by $100 grants issued through the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. The increase brings the average grant to $326.The amount a family qualifies for depends on several factors, including the type of heating fuel it uises, family income and location.The income cap for a four-person family, for example, is $33,075.Gov.
