Tamaqua man faces DUI and other charges

Tamaqua Police were serving warrants on June 10 when they observed a white Cadillac with an expired registration parked at Hope's My Family Mini Mart, 401 W. Broad St.

Patrolman Joseph Krebs determined the vehicle had been driven to the mini mart by of Juan Guerrero, 61, of 297 High St., Tamaqua, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.Guerrero, who appeared to be intoxicated, admitted driving the car. He was given, and failed a field sobriety test. A preliminary breath test indicated a 0.13 BAC. He refused to submit to blood testing.He was transported to the district magistrate's office due to the warrant, where he paid his fines and was released.He will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and driving a vehicle with an invalid registration.
