Clothing drive

St. John's Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave., is in the process of collecting new, clean and slightly used clothing and shoes. The items may be dropped off at the church Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Wednesday, 6-8 p.m.

The clothing will be given away beginning Thursday, Aug. 2 and ends Saturday, Aug. 17. The times are as follows: Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Crime watch signs

The Jim Thorpe Crime Watch committee is looking for residents of the community to help defray the costs for the crime watch signs. They are asking residents of the various blocks in the community to join together with the cost. If you have questions, please contact the borough office and the message will be referred to Jamie Solomon and Phyllis Lienhard.
