Christmas lights in Hometown went black and all other lights, too, after a downed power line cut electricity to 563 PPL customers shortly after midnight Saturday and into early Sunday.
The outage happened after a tractor-trailer mishap on Route 54 near the Hometown Farmers Market.
The disruption resulted in a blackout for most homes and businesses south of HT Commons Shopping Center and Tidewood East Industrial Park.
The traffic light at the Hometown intersection also was without power and had to be connected to an emergency generator.
PPL estimated it would take at least three hours to make repairs, however, full power was restored about 2:30 a.m.
Assisting were township police from Rush and Ryan, Hometown fire police and Hometown Fire Company.
