@Breif.Head:Mangold will play football at Albright

Jim Thorpe High School senior Tyler Mangold has announced that he will continue his academic and football career at Division III Albright College.

Mangold was a four-year starter for the Olympians, where he was named captain the past two two seasons. A two-way starter, Mangold led the team in pancake blocks as an offensive lineman and tackles as the team's linebacker.

This year, Mangold had 75 tackles, including 16 tackles for a loss and 6.5 quarterback sacks.

Mangold was the team MVP this past season and also the Defensive Player of the Year. He was a first-team linebacker on the TIMES NEWS all-area team.

Mangold will major in Elementary Education.

@Breif.Head:Green will play Mansfield Sprint Football

Jim Thorpe High School senior Sean Green has announced that he will continue his academic and football career as part of the Mansfield University sprint football team.

The sprint football team is a weight limit squad (185 pounds or under) sponsored by the university.

Green was a three-year starter at defensive back for the Olympians. He was also a two-year starter at receiver and punter.

As a senior, he caught 11 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had 30 tackles and two intercpetions.

Green will be a Pre-Med major at Mansfield.

Wilkes and play football

Jim Thorpe High School senior Terry Moll has announced that he will continue his academic and football career at Division III Wilkes College.

Moll was a two-year starter on both sides of the ball for the Olympians. On offense, he played receiver as a junior before switching to quarterback this season. On defense, he played in the secondary.

As a senior, Moll completed 42 of 83 passes for 732 yards and nine touchdowns. He also rushed for 518 yards and four touchdowns.

He was one of the Olympians' captains this past season.

Moll will major in Mechanical Engineering.

football at Widener

Jim Thorpe High School senior Jon Fritz has announced that he will continue his academic and football career at Division III Widener University

Fritz was named the Olympians' co-Defensive Player of the Year. He finished second on the team with 62 tackles from his defensive back position. He also had eight tackles for loss.

In addition to his role on defense, Fritz started as a receiver for the Olympians, catching seven passes for 102 yards.

Fritz was a first-team defensive back on the TIMES NEWS all-area team.

Fritz will major in Civil Engineering.
