A Delaware County woman is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police said Marina Dunn, 36, of 11207 Elma Drive, Glen Mills, was stopped about 1:59 a.m. on Aug. 27 along Susquehanna Street, for a traffic violation. Dunn displayed signs of intoxication and submitted to a blood test. Police said the test showed a .185BAC. In addition to two DUI charges, Dunn was also charged with careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A Carbon County driver escaped injury after she lost control of her car on a wet roadway.

State police at Fern Ridge said Samantha A. Katzen, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 1993 Toyota Celica along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township, about 1:58 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, when she lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car spun and came to rest in a grassy ditch.

Troopers noted the roadway was wet at the time.

A vehicle that fled police in Lehigh County was later found to be stolen and owned by a Schuylkill County resident. State police at Fogelsville said the incident began about 1:49 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, along Hamilton Blvd., at Lincoln Ave., in Lower Macungie Township.

Troopers attempted to stop a dark blue in color Jeep Grand Cherokee for an inoperable driver side taillight. Troopers activated emergency lights and siren but the driver of the Jeep refused to stop.

A Monroe County man is facing a charge of retail theft following an incident that occurred at Kinley's Shop Rite, located along SR209, in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Francis John Pellegrino, 26, of Saylorsburg is accused of stealing lunch meat from the store. The incident occurred about 4:40 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, troopers said.

Two Carbon County men are facing theft charges following an incident that occurred about 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12.

State police at Lehighton said Kelly Neff, 43, and Herman McFarland, 45, both of Palmerton, arrived at the Pencor Services, Inc., of Palmerton, site in Lower Towamensing Township and removed copper wire from a storage facility. The two were taken into custody. The copper is valued at $200.

Theft charges are pending, troopers said. Troopers were assisted in the arrest by Palmerton police.

State police at Frackville are looking for a hit and run driver who was involved in a crash about 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, along SR1005 in North Union Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Noreen L. Boehmer, 64, of Zion Grove, was driving a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser southbound and rounding a curve when a northbound vehicle entered her lane of travel and struck the drivers' side of her car. After impact the other driver fled the scene. Boehmer was not injured.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police reported two individuals were arrested on shoplifting charges as a result of an incident at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Wal-Mart Store along Route 940 in Mount Pocono.

Charges with retail theft are Angela Wisniewski, 22, of Blakeslee, and Steven Crawbuck, 23, of Pocono Lake.

Police said they were initially caught by the representatives of the store's loss prevention department as they tried to leave the store without paying for items that they concealed on their person.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 4:25 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12.

State police at Frackville said Charles Strouse Sr., 60, of Pottsville, was driving a 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup truck southbound on SR209 in New Philadelphia when the truck left the road for unknown reasons. The truck entered a large drainage area where it became submerged in a large pool of water.

State police at Frackville are investigating a theft incident at a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said four Siemens induction motors were removed from the Old Bear Ridge Shop property located at 10 Gilberton Road, in West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said the theft was discovered about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

James Smith Jr., 53, of Pocono Summit, has been arrested by Pocono Mountain Regional Police for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said the man was stopped while driving on Route 940, near the Pocono Summit Plaza, after he was observed "weaving" his vehicle, a Chevrolet truck.

Police said they observed indications of intoxication and made the arrest after he was administered field sobriety tests.
