State police at Lehighton reported investigating a rear-end type crash about 1:24 p.m. on Aug. 5 along Old Route 115 at Mountain Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said the vehicle of Michael Thomas Sprague, 42, of 122 Tittle Rd., Saylorsburg, was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Scott Alan Glossnyer II, 23, of 110 N. Allentown Rd., Telford, Montgomery County.

No one was injured.

Troopers said Glossnyer was cited for causing the accident.

Lehighton police reported on the following arrests made by officers.

Robert Bonetsky, 51, of 90 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, and Richard Hartranft, 47, who provided an address of 101 Lehigh Drive, c/o the welfare office in Lehighton, were both cited for violating the borough ordinance which prohibits consuming or possessing alcohol in public.

The incident occurred about 3:10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, at 5 S. East Alley.

A Carbon County woman was jailed on Sunday, Aug. 5, after causing a disturbance.

Lehighton police said about 8:05 a.m. Kristin Eschbach, 31, of 212 N. Seventh St., Lehighton, was causing a disturbance by screaming obscenities numerous times after being warned to desist. She was placed under arrest for persistent disorderly conduct.

She was arraigned before on-call District Judge Edward Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning after failing to post $5,000 percentage bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 15 at 3:40 p.m. before Lewis.

A Luzerne County woman is facing a drug count following an incident that occurred at a hospital in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Mychal Lauren Beltrami, 27, of Hazleton, was brought to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, on April 10 about 5:14 p.m. for a drug overdose that occurred in front of the Dollar Store in the Jamesway Plaza in Tamaqua.

While being treated hospital personnel found 10 packets of a powdery substance on her. The packets were suspected to be illegal drugs and were turned over to troopers.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), after fleeing a crash scene and later being stopped.

State police at Frackville said Bryan D. McGinley, 29, of Ashland, was operating a 1997 Chrysler along the Morea Road in West Mahanoy Township, about 8:35 a.m. on Aug. 4 when he failed to negotiate a left curve. The car left the road and went onto a sidewalk where it struck a rock wall.

Rush Township police will file charges against a Tobyhanna man after an incident at the Hometown Commons Wal-Mart.

Carlos J. Yturrino, 25, allegedly removed merchandise valued at $116.64 from the retailer on Aug. 3.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance following an incident in Carbon County.

Jim Thorpe police said about 4:14 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, officers were dispatched to the area of 300 W. Broadway for a one-vehicle crash. On scene officers observed a PPL utility pole snapped in pieces and the driver of a Chevrolet truck about 100 feet from the pole.

A Jim Thorpe driver is facing charges including hit and run following an incident that occurred on Thursday, July 12, about 12:50 a.m.

Borough police said they were dispatched to the area of Walnut and North Avenue at the time and date stated for a hit and run accident. Upon arrival officers were informed the suspect vehicle was a small silver or gray in color car that was leaking fluids due to the collision.

Lehigh Township police in Northampton County reported on the following enforcement activities:

A roving DUI patrol was conducted on July 28. Also participating were officers from Bushkill and Plainfield townships, and the boroughs of Tatamy, Nazareth, Stockertown, and Walnutport, and Colonial Regional.

Officers contacted 58 vehicles and arrested four drivers for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI); with 19 traffic citations issued, and 38 warnings handed out.

Two Schuylkill County residents are facing drug counts in Carbon County following an incident in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police said about 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, they responded to the area of W. Fourth St., for possible drug activity. Upon arrival police found Jonathan Lowell Emerich, 20, of 157 S. Nice St., Frackville, and Courtney Anne Blewis, 18, of 730 High St., Ashland, in a Chevrolet vehicle.

While speaking with both individuals police noticed an orange needle on the driver's side seat. Both occupants were then asked to exit the vehicle.
