Kayla M. Heffley, 28, of Bath, sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:41 a.m. Dec. 14 on Silver Springs Boulevard in Eldred Tow nship, Monroe County, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata northbound when she fell aleep. The vehicle drifted off the east shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole with its fron end. Polcie said the pole was snapped in half and the car came to rest facing northwest off the east shoulder of the roadway with the pole laying actross the car.

State police at the Lehighton cited Gary Chrvala, 53, of Saylorsburg, for disorderly conduct after police were summoned to an incident involving the man's barking dog.

Police said the incident happened at Rolling Hill Road when neighbors of Chrvala reported he allowed his dog to bark continuously in the early morning hours on Dec. 11.

Police said the dog could be heard barking when they arrived on scene at 4:30 a.m.

Three people were cited following an argument late Wednesday evening at the home of Blair Terry Kranch, 187 Owl Creek Rd., Tamaqua.

Police were dispatched to the Kranch home at 11:44 p.m. for a reported domestic in progress. On scene officers spoke with Kranch, his live in girlfriend Kathy Carroll, and Kranch's relative, Daniel Faust of Tamaqua.

All three were visibly intoxicated, had various injuries to their faces and were transported to hospitals for treatment. All three were treated and released.

Tamaqua police are investigating an assault reported to the department on Dec. 5.

According to the report the female victim was walking in the area of Hegarty Avenue at approximately 7:45 p.m. when she was confronted by two unknown males. The males had approached her from the rear, then physically assaulted the victim. She was transported to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, for treatment.

A Tamaqua woman just didn't want to let go Thursday morning, resulting in her arrest.

Police were dispatched to 400 Pine St. at 4:20 a.m. after Schuylkill County Communications received a call from Torrey Mueller, 36, who stated his girlfriend would not allow him to exit the apartment. When officers arrived they could hear a loud female voice from inside the residence.

A Carbon County driver was involved in a two vehicle crash in Lehigh County in which he was cited. State police at Fogelsville said the accident occurred about 7:42 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, on the off-ramp of Interstate 78 at Lehigh St., in Salisbury Township.

Troopers said Nicholas A. Holmes, 43, of Summit Hill, driving a 2002 Subaru Outback, was in the left lane of the two-lane ramp, while Jason M. Witt, 33, of Allentown, was in the right lane driving a 2011 Toyota Camry.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a two vehicle crash that occurred about 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, along SR61 in West Brunswick Township, just north of Port Clinton.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Samantha Jo Fisher, 22, of Auburn, and Gretchen Erin Garrity, 36, of Pottsville, were both northbound with Fisher in the left passing lane and Garrity in the right lane.

A Cumberland County man was jailed late Thursday, Dec. 13, in Schuylkill County for driving under the influence (DUI) and simple assault.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident began as an assault about 10:30 pm. in the parking lot of the Weis Market in Norwegian Township, and ended in the Walmart store parking lot in Saint Clair.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported the arrest of three individuals in connection with a burglary and related offenses.

Police said on Dec. 5 they responded to 1111 Country Place Drive, in Tobyhanna, for a possible burglary in progress which was called in by a neighbor. She told police she saw a male enter the home stated above. A burglary was discovered at the residence.

Three hours later the neighbor called 9-1-1 a second time to report there were three males at the same residence loading pipes into a vehicle. She gave a description of the vehicle.

Two persons were charged with harassment following an incident at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12 in Washington Township, Schuylkill County.

Charged were Russell Kenneth Dissinger, 28, and Wendy Lynne Dower, 48, both of Pine Grove. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident happened at 3458 Sweet Arrow Lake Road when a verbal argument between the two escalated and became physical. Police said Dissinger allegedly grabbed Dower by the shirt and punched her, while Dower allegedly pushed him back and slapped him across the face.
