I didn't so much like "The Iron Lady" as greatly admire and respect this fascinating film, especially Meryl Streep's extraordinary channeling (How else to describe her uncanny abilities?) of Great Britain Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, first female occupant of 10 Downing Street.

NEW YORK (AP) – Adele is nominated for six Grammys, and she'll be on deck to collect anything she wins: The 23-year-old singer is set to perform at the awards show.

Adele had surgery on her vocal cords last year, and the Grammys will be the first time she has performed live in five months, The Recording Academy announced Tuesday.

"The Artist" is one of the front-runners for the 84th Academy Awards.

With 10 Oscar nominations, "The Artist" was second only to director Martin Scorsese's "Hugo," with 11 nominations.

Edgar Winter will be performing at Penn's Peak on Saturday, Feb. 4. Opening for him will be Rick Derringer.

Both Edgar Winter and his brother Johnny grew up with music.

Edgar recalls, during a phone interview, why they drifted apart and then what brought them back together.

"Johnny started being a blues fan and didn't want a saxophone in the band," said Edgar, regarding to their temporary parting of ways.

In 1969, Johnny performed at Woodstock and invited Edgar on stage with him, bringing the brothers back together for awhile.

Edgar said of Woodstock that it was "the pivotal point and thing which changed my life. Up until then, I was not interested in pop music."

Smith Auditorium in Zion United Church of Christ, 2nd and Iron Sts. in Lehighton is a hub of activity right now but it's not just during Sunday morning worship services.

Zion Opera workshop, which has been a mainstay at Zion UCC for the last 42 years, is in full swing once again.

This year's chosen show is Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls. It will be staged on March 1, 2, and 3.

It's a story that all centers on a bet.

On Saturday night, you can forget the winter blahs for awhile and think of sand and beaches and summer fun.

Appearing at Penn's Peak on Saturday will be Parrotbeach, a full-time, Jimmy Buffet tribute band.

You're sure to hear Buffet favorites like "Margaritaville" and "Come Monday" by this five member band which has been doing Buffet music for a full decade.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $17 in advance and $22 on the day of the concert.

Gail Maholick/TIMES NEWS Air Supply played love songs to an appreciate audienece on Friday night at Penns Peak. Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock perform love longs at Penns Peak.

Air Supply fans were treated to a grand performance at Penn's Peak, Jim Thorpe on Friday night.

During their nearly two hour performance, the Australian soft rock duo of Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell shared the best of their music with the appreciative crowd.

The audience continued to clap and cheer after every song, and when the band left the stage to end the show, the audience wanted more. The band then returned to stage for an encore performance of "I'm All of Love."

Three Dog Night, best known for the pop hit "Joy to the World," makes a return visit to Penn's Peak on Saturday, March 31.

The 2012 schedule at Penn's Peak is shaping into a busy one with already over a dozen concerts and 10 dinner shows announced.

Some of the stars coming to perform on the spacious stage with the million dollar sound system include Three Dog Night, Glen Campbell, Nitty Ditty Dirt Band, and Edgar Winter.

Tonight, Air Supply makes its first stop of its 2012 touring schedule at the Jim Thorpe venue. Air Supply has had such hits as "All Out of Love" and "Every Woman in the World."

Performing at the free rock 'n' roll show on January 28 at the Laurel Mall are, l-r, Jeff Bonomo ( There and Back Again ), Denise Betz ( The Laurel Mall), Richie Molinaro ( Richie Molinaro and Mr. Lou), and Mario Jordan ( The Fuzzy Park Band). Molinaro is the coordinator of the event.

Richie Molinaro's fourth annual Rock 'n' Roll Show will be held at the Laurel Mall in Hazleton on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Another talented line up of performers are scheduled to appear.

Molinaro in association with the Laurel Mall will once again present their annual FREE Rock n Roll Show. This years line up will include "There and Back Again" one of North Eastern Pennsylvania's top high energy bands.

There and Back Again will perform tunes from the 80's to today's hottest hits.

"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and "Carnage" are two distinctive movies with wildly different approaches to drama.

First, there's "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy," a big-screen adaptation of John Le Carre's 1974 British spy novel featuring George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a middle-aged intelligence agent who, after being into forced retirement, is called back to uncover a Soviet mole in the "Circus," code name for the Secret Intelligence Service.
