In other business, Tamaqua Area School Board on a 6-0 vote Tuesday, with directors Thomas Rottet, Wanda Zuber, and board President Larry Wittig absent, approved the following:

• The resignation of elementary teacher Kristen Zellner, effective at date agreed upon with the superintendent.• The resignations of professional substitute teachers Megan Wagner and Pamela Hoppes.• The resignation of part-time paraprofessional Gretchen Steigerwalt.• The removal of part-time paraprofessional Tammy Edmonds, effective immediately.• Lennae Thompson as a special-education teacher at a salary of $40,012.• Chris Gardiner, from substitute custodian to full-time custodian.• Kyrsten Moneiro, Angel VanBlargan and Lennae Thompson, as professional substitute teachers.• Amber Phillips and Michael Uranko as professional substitute guest teachers.• Andrea McLaughlin, from cafeteria monitor to a part-time paraprofessional.• Bridget Oertner, part-time paraprofessional, effective Aug. 28, and resign effective Sept. 5.• Shaina Berezwick as a part-time paraprofessional.• Michelle McHose to the substitute paraprofessional list.• Linda Edmonds, Holly Koscak, Frances Kowalewski and Mary Lung to the substitute health room assistants list.• High school testing: ASVAB, PSAT, Keystone and AP; middle school testing: PSSA ELA, grades 6-8; PSSA Math, grades 6-8; PSSA Science, grade 8; and Keystone Algebra I; elementary testing: Pearson Benchmarking, grades 1-5, DIBELS testing, grades kindergarten through second, and Star testing, grades 3-5.• The second reading of the point-of-sale policy.• The superintendent to sign electronic agreements with the state Department of Education.• Disbursement of the 2017-18 student flu vaccine to be provided by Health Hero LLC.• A staff flu clinic provided by Walmart.• The first reading of a wellness policy.• Rush field signage for Sadowski Orthodontics.• For the special education director, and Jessica Mazaika, high school special education teacher, for an out-of-state trip to the National Autism Conference in New Orleans,Sept. 6-10, paid for by an Achieve Grant.
