Update: Rush Township crash victim identified

A Nesquehoning man died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday on Route 54 in Rush Township.

Schuylkill County coroner Dr. David Moylan said Michael Snisky, 29 was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moylan will do a virtual autopsy via CAT scan, and toxicology tests. A traditional autopsy will be performed if needed, he said.

State police at Frackville said the crash happened at about 3:15 p.m. on Route 54 in the Lake Hauto area.

The highway remained closed at 6:30 p.m. as troopers, with the assistance of the state police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section unit, investigated.

The crash happened after the driver of an eastbound car crossed the center line and hit another, according to preliminary reports. The car caught on fire.
