Rod & gun club helps fire company

Members and officers of the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club recently presented a check to the Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company as part of its annual community support program.

The check represents the organization's commitment to help local nonprofits under the rules and obligations of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance license.Fire Chief Bill George extended a debt of gratitude to the club, and provided a special recognition award to the club for its continuing support.The plaque will be displayed in the social quarters of the rod and gun club and is a tribute to the club members for supporting local organizations.Board member Larry Arner said, "As part of the fire company's obligation to protect their members, this donation will go toward the replacement of the department's 20-year-old self-contained breathing apparatus. This is truly appreciated and a great start to achieve our goal of $100,000."
