McAdoo Police Report

McAdoo Police made the following arrests:

• Linda Kester, 67, of McAdoo, was charged with DUI after a traffic stop on March 23. Police stopped a vehicle for straddling double yellow lines and driving slowly on East Blaine Street. Kester, had glossy eyes and police smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. She told police that she had two beers. Police asked her to submit to field sobriety tests, which showed signs of impairment. Kester was taken into custody and to the hospital for a blood test, which revealed a BAC of 0.24%.

• Wilmer Basilio, 22, of Wilkes-Barre, faces a DUI charge for an incident that occurred on March 23. Police were called by the victim, stating that he was intoxicated and wanted to turn himself in for stealing a vehicle. Troopers arrived to a residence on S. Kennedy Drive to see the car running and the offender laying in the driver’s seat. A check of the vehicle showed that it was not stolen. Basilio stated that he was driving drunk and did the right thing by calling 911. He was taken into custody and given field sobriety tests, which showed signs of impairment. He was taken into custody and to the hospital for a blood test, which resulted in a BAC of 0.086%. Basilio is currently incarcerated at Schuylkill County Prison.

• Robert Wiard, 31, of Wexford, faces DUI and possession charges after traffic stop that occurred on March 14. Police were monitoring traffic at the intersection of Hannock and Washington Streets when a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. Wiard was cooperative, but appeared very anxious and fidgety. Police asked him to step out the vehicle and if he would mind emptying his pockets. A small plastic bag fell to the ground. He picked it up and handed it to police. Troopers asked what was in the bag and the offender replied “probably fentanyl.” Wiard was taken into custody and was asked to submit to field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment. After being taken to the hospital for a blood test, results showed amphetamine, methamphetamine, clonazepam and fentanyl in his system.

• Marley Geusic, 30, of Lansford, faces charges of possession and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on March 3. Police stopped a vehicle for failing to lower high beams to oncoming traffic, and a Stop Here on Red violation. Geusic was the passenger in the car and was found to have a warrant out of Carbon County Adult Probation. She was taken into custody and a search incident to arrest recovered a bundle of heroin packets in her jacket pocket. She was transported to the station and turned over to Carbon County authorities.
