Jim Thorpe Lions Club holds awards dinner

The Jim Thorpe Lions Club held its annual student awards dinner to honor eight Jim Thorpe Area High School students as Students of the Month over a seven-month period of the past school year. The students are chosen by the faculty. The criteria stresses they do not need to have the best grade in a particular subject, only that they have the desire to succeed in the given subject. Front, from left: Matthew Green, January, music; Mathew Day, October, business education; Sierra Locke, April, foreign language Spanish; Antonio Madera, November, physical education; and Steven Counterman, March, technical education.
