Kia dealership under construction

The future 19,000-square foot KIA office and car repair garage is taking shape and expected to be complete by the end of this summer.

The dealership, owned by William Rosado, plans to move from its present location at Route 443 near the Route 209 Thomas J. McCall Memorial Bridge to a site at the intersection of Route 443 and Ashtown Drive. The new dealership is being built on the 4.2-acre lot between Lowe's and Walmart. The NuCor Management company of Wind Gap has worked on setting steel beams on site after an mild winter season.According to Mahoning Township Building and Zoning Officer, Carl Faust, the crew made use of a ground heater to keep construction moving over the colder months."It has hoses that run through the ground to keep everything from freezing. That's why they were able to pour the concrete when it was cold," he said.Faust said after the beams are erected the crew will move onto building the roof before working on the underground plumbing for the building."They're pushing because it's a little behind. They're out of the ground but the weather could still affect setting the stone and paving the lot," Faust said.
